Great Tips on Recharging A Newly Purchased Skil Cordless Drill Battery
When your newSkil Cordless Drill Battery arrives in your mailbox, you probably think you should charge it before using it. Everyone knows that a battery pack needs to be charged before it can be used, it's pretty much common sense.. Sometimes though, the world falls on it's head when a new battery pack for some unexplainable reason doesn't want to charge, for those that have had the pleasure of encountering a new pack that refused to cooperate, well... you know what I am talking about..
You rarely will ever see a company ship charged drill batteries through the mail. Mailing something like that presents a financial liability, not to mention, they also want the battery to be as fresh as the day it left the warehouse. To keep their conscious and bank account clear from avoidable legal claims, they send out batteries with minimal charges. What little battery life you do find on a new battery is likely to be a 'test charge' used for their integrity tests.
At times, packs with a 'test charge' in them will refuse to charge for some stupid reason. Strangely enough, some chargers consider them to be full rather than empty. You too may have encountered this before. The charging light would turn on, but then it would turn off as if the pack were fully charged.
The solution to this problem is fairly simple. Put the pack on your drill, run it down, and then put it back into the charger. This has reportedly worked for many people who have had this issue with a charging a new pack, and hopefully, it works for you too should you encounter the same problem!
