This is pretty much common sense stuff right?. Most of the time, well, pretty much all the time nowadays, companies make a practice of not mailing fully charged batteries. Mailing something like that presents a financial liability, not to mention, once a pack is charged fully, its lifespan clock starts ticking, and companies don't need people complaining about their packs longevity. Most companies battle this by shipping packs with a zero to near-nothing charge. If there is a charge on your battery, it is most likely a test charge quality control uses to see if the pack is working.

At times, packs with a 'test charge' in them will refuse to charge for some stupid reason. People have reported cases of drill battery chargers refusing to charge new packs. Those that have had this happen noticed one frustrating error. The normal charging light would come on upon inserting the battery, but then it would turn off as if the pack were fully charged.

The good news is, the fix to this issue is easy. Before putting it back into the charger, put the pack on your drill and run it down a bit. If you have never had this problem, consider yourself lucky and of course, now prepared!!
