Recommendations on Recharging A New Hitachi Cordless Drill Battery
Upon receiving a new or refurbished Hitachi Cordless Drill Battery, you pretty much assume that you will need to charge it fully before using it. Everyone knows that a battery pack needs to be charged before it can be used, it's pretty much common sense.. However, sometimes there will be a battery pack that just doesn't agree with this methodology, and if you ever have had the pleasure of common sense falling on its own head, then you know how frustrating problems like these are..
You rarely will ever see a company ship charged drill batteries through the mail. Mailing something like that presents a financial liability, not to mention, once a pack is charged fully, its lifespan clock starts ticking, and companies don't need people complaining about their packs longevity. To keep their conscious and bank account clear from avoidable legal claims, they send out batteries with minimal charges. If there is a charge on your battery, it is most likely a test charge quality control uses to see if the pack is working.
A pack that does come with a small amount of charge may disagree with the charger you are using. People have reported cases of drill battery chargers refusing to charge new packs. You too may have encountered this before. When putting in a new battery, the usual light would turn on, but oddly enough the light would then quickly shut off.
The solution to this problem is fairly simple. Before putting it back into the charger, put the pack on your drill and run it down a bit. This has reportedly worked for many people who have had this issue with a charging a new pack, and hopefully, it works for you too should you encounter the same problem!
