Some Tips on Recharging A Newly Purchased Dewalt Cordless Drill Battery
When your newDewalt Cordless Drill Battery arrives in your mailbox, you pretty much assume that you will need to charge it fully before using it. This is pretty much common sense stuff right?. Although, for some mixed up crazy reason common sense isn't always right, and if you ever have had the pleasure of common sense falling on its own head, then you know how frustrating problems like these are..
Most companies will never send fully charged batteries in the mail. Shipping a fully charged pack is a potential liability to them, not to mention, once a pack is charged fully, its lifespan clock starts ticking, and companies don't need people complaining about their packs longevity. To control this issue, they will often only ship a battery pack that contains a small charge. What little battery life you do find on a new battery is likely to be a 'test charge' used for their integrity tests.
At times, packs with a 'test charge' in them will refuse to charge for some stupid reason. People have reported cases of drill battery chargers refusing to charge new packs. You too may have encountered this before. When putting in a new battery, the usual light would turn on, but as quick as it had come on, it would turn off.
This problem is a pretty simple fix. Before putting it back into the charger, put the pack on your drill and run it down a bit. This has reportedly worked for many people who have had this issue with a charging a new pack, and hopefully, it works for you too should you encounter the same problem!
