Some Tips on Recharging A Newly Purchased Bosch Cordless Drill Battery
When that new Bosch Cordless Drill Battery arrives at your door, you pretty much assume that you will need to charge it fully before using it. There's no way around it, a dead battery can't be used without first charging it. However, sometimes there will be a battery pack that just doesn't agree with this methodology, for those that have had the pleasure of encountering a new pack that refused to cooperate, well... you know what I am talking about..
Most companies will never send fully charged batteries in the mail. Mailing something like that presents a financial liability, not to mention, once a pack is charged fully, its lifespan clock starts ticking, and companies don't need people complaining about their packs longevity. Most companies battle this by shipping packs with a zero to near-nothing charge. If there is a charge on your battery, it is most likely a test charge quality control uses to see if the pack is working.
A pack that does come with a small amount of charge may disagree with the charger you are using. People have reported cases of drill battery chargers refusing to charge new packs. You too may have encountered this before. The normal charging light would come on upon inserting the battery, but as quick as it had come on, it would turn off.
This problem is a pretty simple fix. Put the pack on your drill, run it down, and then put it back into the charger. This has reportedly worked for many people who have had this issue with a charging a new pack, and hopefully, it works for you too should you encounter the same problem!
